Splash 2015 - Day 4 at Maple Cove

This morning we did some last minute shopping and then left Ganges about 11:00am.  The cruise to Maple Bay was about 2-1/2 hours. We cruised around the north end of Salt Springs Island and are now on Vancouver Island.  We caught a really nice picture of Afterlight as they passed us. The trip here was beautiful and there were some amazing homes along the shoreline that had incredible views. This one in particular caught our attention because it reminded us of a castle.

I would have to say this is one of my favorite places. It's not fancy but I love the setting and the quaint little buildings at the marina. There is no town here but it has all the basics that we might need. It is actually the first place that we have had reliable wi-fi so I am using this opportunity to catch up on my blog.

Adjacent to where we are moored, there is a lovely bay that is perfect for kayaking. We are hoping to take our kayaks out in the morning before we leave if the weather cooperates. It has been raining most days of our trip so far but the islands need rain so badly that it is hard to complain. The weather is supposed to improve this coming week.

Smiths, Canons and us decided to go to dinner at the Shipwreck Restaurant located at the marina. We had a wonderful dinner and then went to Larry and Cheryl's boat for ice cream cones to close out our evening. We do not need to leave until 11:00am so if the weather is good we are looking forward to doing some kayaking around the marina.

Thanks to Moon, we were able to get our first picture together on our boat for this trip.
