After breakfast, Bob went to the IMAX movie, Journey Into Space, while I did a little shopping. One of the shops that everyone talked about was Murchie's. It's a specialty tea shop and café. I found some wonderful orange tea that I bought. They had a display that was created for their shop when they first opened back in 1894.
On the way back, I got a picture of another street performer. This mime was costumed like a machine that only played if someone put in a dollar. He definitely had a system going. He could also play well!
This afternoon the men went to a military collectibles store that was outstanding. Bob said it was very cool and so much to see. While they were there, the ladies went to The Empress for Afternoon Tea. It is pricey but we all felt it was one of those things that you have to do at least once. We had a wonderful lunch and time for "girl talk". We felt like we were on Downton Abbey and tried to mind our proper English manners. The staff and other customers were all impressed that we were all wearing hats and we caused quite a commotion. We all had a wonderful time! I added two extra pictures of the inside of The Empress. The first one is of the Bengal Room where they are serving a special Indian breakfast on Sunday morning and one of a hallway that showcases the beautiful woodwork.
This afternoon we borrowed Chris Olson's dinghy (at his insistence!) and took Al & Sue with us to do our own private harbor tour. It was a very pretty ride and we went as far as we could without going through the rapids and under the bridge to the next section of the waterway. If we had had our own dinghy we might have tried it but we weren't about to risk damaging someone else's.
Tonight we went out to dinner to the Irish Pub. They had great food and we had a wonderful time reminiscing about our day. As we were walking back to the boat, we noticed police cars blocking the road in front of the parliament building and a sea of Sea Scouts performing drills and the Ceremony of the Flags.
