Edmonds Yacht Club

Tuesday night was the General Meeting of the Edmonds Yacht Club and since we were joining that night we decided it was a great chance to spend the night on Stargazer. The cruise to Edmonds took about 1-1/2 hours.  Bob's sister, Deb, and her husband, Tom, are also joining so were at the dinner with us. We had a great time meeting other members and giving our First Readings so others could get to know us. The following morning we headed back to Everett. We've decided that whenever possible we will try to go to the meetings by boat. It was so nice to leave the meeting and be able to enjoy the marina for the rest of the evening. Besides, we are looking for any excuse to spend the night on her!

Hat Island

We got a break in the weather on January 19th and decided to take advantage of it with a short trip out around Hat Island. On our way there we saw a boat pulling something yellow. As we got closer we discovered it was a mini-submarine! On our way back to the marina we saw two sealions relaxing on the buoy. Sealions are very plentiful in Puget Sound and are actually a big nuisance. They are still entertaining and a lot of fun to watch and to photograph.

Dock Buddies

The weather has been so cold lately that ice ws forming around the boat. Our mechanic finished up the work that he was doing and we finished oiling the teak and working on projects that we wanted to do. The weather finally warmed up (a little) and the ice was gone so we decided to run the boat a little. It turned out to be very windy and rough so we sat inside at the marina and played dominoes with Bob and Vickie Southern. We had a great time just relaxing and using the  boat as our "cabin".  What a wonderful place to just sit and relax. I love the sound of the rigging hitting the masts on the sailboats. It sounds like musical chimes and adds to the atmosphere of the marina.  As we were getting ready to leave we had some friends come visit us looking for food. We couldn't resist giving them a little treat so we could get a picture.
